The paper collages

Wednesday October 14th, 2015

Hello flamingos!

If you follow me on Facebook, you certainly know that at the moment I participate in weekly creative workshops. The purpose of these evenings is to create and to collaborate, to help each other and to share our ideas. Everybody brings a project on which he or she wants to work, we lend our material, we speak, and each time we have a good moment.

On the first week, one of the organizers showed us how to draw on ceramic. It was great, but also a little bit frightening to get into it without net! This week I looked at my empty apartment and I wondered what I could bring to the workshop. Then I took the only things I have at home at the moment: some paper and scissors!

And finally I come to show you today that, even with not much we can make nice things.

To do this kind of collage, we only need paper and magazines to cut.

Here I drew and then cut a shape on a white piece of paper. On another sheet, I stuck fine strips of paper which I cut from magazines. Then I stuck my first hollowed out sheet on the second sheet and here we are!

Here, I first drew my bird with a pencil. Then I stuck torn papers around this shape to create the background. The bird is mysterious, isn’t it?

What do you think? Is collage a technique that you want to experiment with?
